Development Committee

Description
The Development Committee is tasked with sustaining and increasing individual and business memberships, the pursuit of corporate sponsorships, and foundation giving. The committee also develops a comprehensive calendar of fundraising events aimed at increasing DCPL's financial stability in order to further its mission.

Description
The Education Committee plans and executes educational activities to inform the membership and the general public about important preservation issues in Washington. These activities include lectures, tours, and panel discussions. Often this committee coordinates with other DCPL committees to expand the organization’s activities.

Government Affairs Committee

Description
The Government Affairs Committee pursues issues relating to government and its impact on preservation. It monitors city and federal government planning decisions that may impact Washington's historic resources, while advocating for sound historic preservation policy. The committee also considers, prepares and proposes municipal legislation that would facilitate preservation projects in the city.

Landmarks Committee

Description
The Landmarks Committee advises the DC Board of Trustees on the status and designation of landmarks and historic districts within the District of Columbia. The committee also identifies historic structures, sites or other features that should be preserved and prioritizes their designation; conducts research and prepares nominations of buildings submitted to the DC Historic Preservation Review Board for listing in the DC Inventory of Historic Sites; and reviews nominations prepared by other groups and recommends action to the Board.
